💹Goal
As the project grows, we’ll expand drop-off hours and add more pick-up locations across the neighborhood.
Each pantry operates in partnership with a local business after hours — creating a win win for our community. Your donations feed neighbors and help small businesses gain visibility and connection.
To make food access simple, local and dignified — connecting people to what they need when they need it.
The Win Win Food Project builds a network of evening food pantries powered by collaboration. Local businesses, property owners and residents come together to share space, time and resources so everyone has access to food when traditional options aren’t available.
These partnerships do more than fight hunger — they create lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. Each collaboration helps nourish the community while uplifting local businesses, bringing more people through their doors and reinforcing the idea that when we care for one another, everyone thrives.
Even with ongoing efforts from food banks, nonprofit organizations and community eateries, a major need in our neighborhoods remains unmet. Food banks are underfunded, existing programs often have limited hours and the people who need help most can’t always reach those services when they’re open.
Many people experiencing food insecurity — those working 9 to 5, caring for family members or juggling multiple responsibilities — simply can’t access daytime food distribution. Taking time off work risks losing income or employment; finding childcare adds expense; and traveling to available sites can be difficult. Every community faces its own set of challenges — from distance and transportation to time, accessibility and awareness — that can make food access harder than it should be.
These barriers compound hunger and deepen inequities. The Win Win Food Project addresses this gap by creating evening, community-run food pantries in familiar neighborhood spaces — places that are already part of people’s daily lives and built on local collaboration. Working together not only feeds our neighbors but also supports the small businesses and property owners who host these efforts, strengthening community connections and local economies alike — a true win win for all.
Win Win Food Project connects communities to food and opportunity through collaboration. We work with local businesses, property owners, and residents to open evening food pantries in spaces that already exist within the community.
Each pantry is community-run, built on volunteer power and local partnerships. Businesses and property owners open their doors after hours, while neighbors help stock shelves, organize donations, and greet guests.
This shared effort feeds people and strengthens local economies. Together, we’re creating a network of spaces where everyone has access to food — and everyone benefits.
The first Win Win Food Project pantry will open in Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood, laying the groundwork for others to follow. Our goal is to make this model easy to replicate — so every community can adapt it to meet their own needs while staying connected through a shared mission and name.
The first pantry in the Win Win Food Project network is open at Statements on 59th, 5843 NE Halsey St, Portland, OR 97213. This pilot site — the original Win Win pantry — will serve as the model for future pantries across neighborhoods.
Each new pantry follows the same shared values: community-led, after-hours access, and local business partnerships that feed people and strengthen neighborhoods.
The goal isn’t just one pantry per neighborhood — it’s a network of neighbors working together for sustained, long-term food access.
